更多Handpicked by Quincy Jones, the soulful XRISS, and her accompanying trio graced the stage at Q's Bar and Lounge, inspiring guests with an array of jazz and soul standards, as well as a fusion of modern-pop and vintage genres. Guests were transported back to the early 20th century as XRISS put her own spin on swing, ragtime, and jazz alongside her accompanying guitarist, bassist, and drummer.
Originally from Lebanon, and now residing in Los Angeles, XRISS has worked very closely with Jones for several years. After becoming a semi-finalist on the debut season of The Voice: Ahla Sawt in 2012, she went on to win Dubai Music Week in 2013, which was judged by acclaimed producers will.i.am., Timbaland, and Quincy Jones.
Since then, XRISS has worked closely with Jones and continues to use her music as a vehicle to raise awareness for social injustices. Namely, her cover of Michael Jackson’s, “Care About Us” comments on the garbage crisis and political dysfunction that is occurring throughout Lebanon in order to lend a voice for the “You Stink” movement.
